Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mr Universe (ranked 2531 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janusz Tracz (ranked 8417 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tracz uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Universe.
Tracz shoots in for a takedown but Universe shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Universe lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Universe stalks Tracz and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Tracz's face. Tracz staggers backwards, shaken.
Universe connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Tracz's hands.

A battle for position here, against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Tracz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Universe to the mat! Universe manages to get full guard.

Tracz takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tracz is defended easily by Universe.
Universe misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A slapping body kick lands there for Universe.
Universe works over Tracz's head and body with a nice combination.

Tracz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Universe defends it nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
