Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Hardpeck (ranked 3842 p4p, 0 weight class) and Riff Jetson (ranked 2547 p4p, 0 weight class). Riff Jetson has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dirk Hardpeck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Riff Jetson!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jetson keeps Hardpeck at a distance using the push kick.
Hardpeck fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hardpeck tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jetson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jetson, as that shot connected.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hardpeck crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Jetson - the referee stops the clock and Hardpeck gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Jetson. Hardpeck manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Hardpeck looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Jetson fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
That kick from Jetson tenderised Hardpeck's leg. Hardpeck is trying to keep his angry face on.
Jetson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jetson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hardpeck swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jetson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Hardpeck wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jetson cracks Hardpeck with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hardpeck gets caught napping as Jetson dives in and scores a takedown. Hardpeck manages to retain guard.
Jetson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Jetson is stalling in the full guard.
It looks like Jetson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Let's hope that Jetson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Jetson throws a strike but Hardpeck rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Jetson is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Hardpeck rolls with it to try and escape but Jetson cranks on the arm and Hardpeck is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
