Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ed Wood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Josey Wales!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jorge Garcia and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Wales.
Wales looks to land a left hand but Wood moved out of range nicely.
The fighters circling - Wales throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Wood swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Wood gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Wales.
Wood takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Wales looks to throw the jab but Wood is out of range.
Wales avoids the body shot from Wood.
Wood with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Wales to score with a decent uppercut.
Wood throws a shot from downtown. Wales moves away and avoids it.

and Wales counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Wood thinking.

It looks like Ed Wood has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Wales lands a stunning uppercut that sends Wood to the mat!


Wood is rocked!

Wales is working for a submission of some sort.
Oh Wood is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wood's coaches at Alvey's House of MMA have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Wales passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Wood!
Wood seems to have got his legs back now.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Wales has control of Wood's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Wood regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wales has hold of Wood's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Wood manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Wales seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Wood is holding on tight.
Wales can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wood is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wood keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Wales goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Wood is on top in guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Wales had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wood defends it easily.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Wood throws a predictable looking body shot
enabling Wales to counter with a crisp jab.
Wales has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Wood is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Wood is looking to wear down Wales with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Wales has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Wales is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Wood is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Wood has escaped and now he's on top!


Wales has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Wood is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Wales.

Wales is looking to regain half guard here but Wood keeps moving and retains side control.
Wales keeps trying to improve his position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Wales bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Wood not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Wales might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Wales throws out a counter right but Wood avoids it with no problem.
Wood looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Wood punishes Wales's body with a nice straight punch.
Wales connects with a nice looking jab.
Wood takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Wood swings away with a body shot that misses
enabling Wales to counter with a crisp jab.

Wood has closed the distance and engaged Wales in a clinch.
Wales is trying to break the clinch but Wood is controlling him.

Wales lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ed Wood's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Josey Wales!
Josey Wales gave a mention to Top Nutrition 160Q200$ 140Q150$ 100Q50$ in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
