Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Momochi scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Freds misses with a hook. Momochi ducked under it nicely.
Freds on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Freds keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Momochi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Freds to the mat! Freds manages to get full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Momochi passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Freds is looking for a sweep.

Momochi is working to tighten his grip on Freds's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Freds has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Momochi is really squeezing tight and eventually Freds passes out! Momochi breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

After winning the bout, Sandayu Momochi thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
