The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Furno enables Hdndkn to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Furno manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Furno seems keen to control Hdndkn's posture.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Furno can do anything to dispel that myth.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Furno is on top in guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Furno shoots in but no luck this time.
Hdndkn throws a big counter combination but Furno scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Gjd Ak Hdndkn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Icy Furno .
Hdndkn gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Furno to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Furno avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hdndkn looking to hit a scissor sweep but Furno is one step ahead there.

Furno misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Furno circles away from the clinch attempt
and Furno counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Hdndkn!
Hdndkn bucks up and tries to throw Furno off but instead Furno has got his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Hdndkn trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Furno is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round but I would say that Gjd Ak Hdndkn will probably get the nod.

Furno manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hdndkn manages to get himself to full guard.

Furno feints and as Hdndkn raises his hands in defense, Furno changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hdndkn has an active guard here but Furno has managed to pass into half guard.
Furno wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hdndkn keeps working.
Hdndkn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Furno drops an elbow to the side of Hdndkn's head.

Furno must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Furno drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hdndkn has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Furno wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hdndkn manages to pass to side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well Hdndkn has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
