Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dalton Mcguire (ranked 8221 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Uche (ranked 5381 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dalton Mcguire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Samuel Uche!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uche changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Uche rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mcguire moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mcguire seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Mcguire tries to keep at a distance but Uche has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mcguire really is a fat lump.

Uche has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mcguire uses from the top position.
Mcguire wants to stand but Uche has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Mcguire is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Mcguire.

Mcguire is fighting off a takedown attempt but Uche is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mcguire to the mat. Mcguire regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Mcguire has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Uche can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mcguire is on top in guard.

Mcguire stands and steps away. Uche gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Uche has managed to clinch.

Mcguire ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mcguire no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Uche is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mcguire is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mcguire has escaped and now he's on top!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Uche can do anything to dispel that myth.

Uche is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Mcguire lands an elbow that stopped Uche in his tracks for a moment.

Mcguire drags the fight down to the ground.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mcguire holds on and takes a little breather.
Uche throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Mcguire gets caught napping as Uche dives in and scores a takedown. Mcguire manages to retain guard.

Uche is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Uche is fighting to break Mcguire's control of his arms but Mcguire is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Uche must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mcguire is working an open guard so Uche takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Uche shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mcguire's guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Mcguire manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Mcguire thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Mcguire is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Mcguire has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Mcguire is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Uche is aware though and is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Uche thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mcguire is on top in guard.


Mcguire gets to his feet. Uche looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Mcguire tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Uche wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

A little jabbing left from Uche on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Uche throws a leg kick but Mcguire sees it coming and moves out of range.

Uche shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mcguire is trying to defend but Uche finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Mcguire makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Uche has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mcguire wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Uche tries a body shot but Mcguire blocks it.

Uche jumps guard and drags Mcguire to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mcguire decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Uche gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Uche throws a right hand that Mcguire ducks under and follows up with a left that Mcguire also avoids with ease.
Uche takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mcguire gets caught flat footed, as Uche shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Mcguire kicks Uche off and gets to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mcguire is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Uche presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Samuel Uche seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Dalton Mcguire has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Samuel Uche is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I would just about give that final round to Samuel Uche.
