Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Ward (ranked 8193 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Davis (ranked 8011 p4p, 0 weight class). Andre Davis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Mickey Ward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Andre Davis!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis scores with a spinning back kick!
Davis gets caught flat footed, as Ward shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Davis wants to get back to his feet but Ward passes into half guard.
Ward is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Davis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ward.
Ward thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Davis's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ward is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Davis is trying to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Davis is looking for a sweep. Ward is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Davis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ward. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ward with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Ward throwing shots but Davis is blocking nicely.

Ward looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Davis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Ward sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Davis defending well though.
Well, if Ward is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ward escapes and gets back to his feet.
Davis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ward stuffs the takedown attempt from Davis. Davis gets slowly back to his feet.
Ward rushes Davis and presses him up against the cage.
Ward is struggling to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ward keeps control of Davis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Davis goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ward prevents it.
Ward tries for a takedown. No joy.
Davis tries to pull guard but Ward holds him up against the cage and eventually Davis drops back down to his feet.
Mickey Ward has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andre Davis.
Davis has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ward is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Ward jumps guard.
Ward is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Ward looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ward might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ward holds on and takes a little breather.

Davis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Davis looking to improve position, pressing down on Ward's thigh with his hand. Ward seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Davis paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Davis's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Ward picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
