Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Guli Gunawan!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davis drives through with a takedown into guard.
Davis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Gunawan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Gunawan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Davis trying to control the position from guard on top but Gunawan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Davis slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Davis wants to control from the top but Gunawan keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gunawan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gunawan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gunawan is pulling down on Davis's head to control his posture.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Davis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gunawan is fending him off so far but Davis persists. Nope, Gunawan circles away and we're back to standing.

Davis gets a clinch.
Gunawan throws a knee to the head but misses.
Gunawan is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Davis is trying to stall.

Gunawan drags the fight down to the ground.
Davis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gunawan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gunawan seems keen to control Davis's posture.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Davis wants to get up but he can't break Gunawan's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Davis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gunawan has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Davis should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Gunawan has tightened it up now! Davis should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
