Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sam Viro!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksandr Martynov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Viro fails with a takedown attempt.
Russo half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Sam Viro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Viro shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Russo as he avoids it easily.

Viro moves into range and clinches up with Russo.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Russo connects with a nice short shot to Viro's temple.

Viro has a hand on Russo's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Russo takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
The referee warns Viro that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

As Viro tries to get set, Russo tries to push him back and clinch up but Viro manages to avoid the attempt.

Horrible takedown attempt by Viro or perhaps it was just good defense by Russo, which made it look bad.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
