The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velez misses with a takedown attempt - Balbetta sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A big left from Velez misses.

Balbetta lands a big uppercut and Velez crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Velez looks OK. Balbetta waves Velez back to his feet!

It looks like Korey Velez has been cut.
Velez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Balbetta avoids it really well and circles away.
Velez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Balbetta lands a nice hook to Velez's body. Velez takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Velez throws a head kick but Balbetta moves out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Balbetta steps in with a hook that catches Velez right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Balbetta follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Velez looks absolutely devastated.
