PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Three Dog (ranked 281 p4p, 41 weight class) and Ravi Shankoli (ranked 1033 p4p, 165 weight class). Dog comes to the cage accompanied by Fallout. Shankoli comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Ravi Shankar - Om Shiva kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Dog. That snapped Shankoli's head back.

Dog clinches with his opponent.

Dog is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shankoli defends well.
Dog will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Shankoli crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Dog - the referee stops the clock and Shankoli gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Dog. Shankoli manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Dog has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dog has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Shankoli uses from the top position.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Shankoli drops his hands momentarily and Dog needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Shankoli just on the top of the head. Shankoli drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Shankoli - he's done!

Ravi Shankoli was interviewed post fight and said 'I believe he forgotten shower for a week or something, I gagged on my own vomit and never could get it back together again. Take a shower you filthy bastard!'.
