Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dwayne King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ted Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis throws a combination. King tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

and King counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like Ted Lewis has been cut.
Lewis connects with a good right hand that stumbles King. King circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Lewis throws a series of strikes that have King backpedaling.

and King counters with a stiff right hand.
Lewis misses with a jab, cross combination.
King looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lewis lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

King has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from King there as he acknowledges the shot.
Lewis ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A combination from Lewis does no damage.

Lewis loads up on a big right hand but King slips the punch.

and King counters with a stiff right hand.
Lewis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but King manages to avoid it.
King was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

and King counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Lewis falls off balance throwing a combination

and King counters by clinching up.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, King creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
King lands a right hand that snaps the head of Lewis backwards.

King lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Lewis backwards.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A short right hand to the side of the head by King.
Lewis wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A left hand lands to the body for King.
Lewis takes a shot to the head.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from King.
Lewis is trying to break the clinch but King has him pressed against the cage.

King lands a shoulder strike.
King keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lewis's efforts to push away.
King lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Lewis looks winded!
Lewis is trying to push King away but King has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Lewis is trying to break free.
Lewis wants to break the clinch but can't.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Lewis has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

King prevents Lewis from breaking the clinch.

Lewis is trying to force a seperation but King has the dominant position.

King lands on the inside with an uppercut.
King lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Lewis.
Lewis wants to break free but King has control.
Lewis has had enough of the clinch but King keeps him there for the moment.
King is working Lewis over against the cage.
King working some nice short punches in the clinch.
King gets through Lewis's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
King lands a shoulder strike.

King lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.


Lewis is rocked!

Lewis is still on wobbly legs! Can King finish him?

Lewis takes a shot to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
King pushes Lewis back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
King gets through Lewis's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Still in the clinch, King scores with a nice short uppercut.
Lewis wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from King.
King pushes Lewis against the cage. King is working some dirty boxing. King pushes off with a quick right hook! Lewis goes down! Lewis tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! King moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dwayne King!
After the fight, Dwayne King was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
