Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Barbosa (ranked 1506 p4p, 70 weight class) and Furious Munchkin (ranked 1391 p4p, 65 weight class). Marcelo Barbosa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbosa throws a right and a left that Munchkin avoids nicely.
Munchkin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Furious Munchkin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Munchkin looks to throw the jab but Barbosa is out of range.
Munchkin tries to bum rush Barbosa with a series of wild strikes but Barbosa uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Munchkin cracks Barbosa with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Munchkin lands with a hook. Barbosa tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
The crowd cheers as Barbosa lands an impressive looking overhand right. Munchkin doesn't seem phased though.

Munchkin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

and Barbosa counters with a series of strikes. Munchkin will be more careful next time no doubt.

It looked like Barbosa was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Munchkin.

Barbosa chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Munchkin can pounce on him.

Barbosa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Munchkin sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Munchkin throws a good cross that connects.
Munchkin uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Barbosa has time to react.
Barbosa is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Munchkin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Barbosa haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcelo Barbosa will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Barbosa is pawing at Munchkin, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Munchkin's nose. Munchkin is badly hurt! Barbosa pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Munchkin tries desperately to hold on but Barbosa is relentless in his assault! As Munchkin receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Barbosa away and this one is in the books!
