PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Moore (ranked 3610 p4p, 341 weight class) and Luiz Santos (ranked 2728 p4p, 267 weight class). Moore kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The SHOW Must Go On. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luiz Santos!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Chris Dean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos lands a slapping body shot.
Donk. Santos catches Moore right on the button with a cross.
Moore takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Santos keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Moore shoots in looking for a takedown but Santos manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Moore's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A little jabbing left from Santos on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Moore fails to land the takedown.
Santos connects with a nice looking jab.
Moore takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Moore changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Santos tries to avoid it but Moore manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Santos to the ground. Santos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joshua Moore. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Moore moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Moore takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Santos avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
It seemed like Santos was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Santos scores with a hook to the body. Moore takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Moore wants to clinch but Santos slips to the side

and Santos counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Santos is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Santos not doing much here.
Moore wants to control but Santos is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Santos is taking a breather. Moore says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Santos passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Moore!

Santos has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Moore is forced to tap!
