Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Milton Friedman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bill Shorton!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Darius Henderson and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shorton lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Friedman at a distance.

Friedman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shorton's guard.
Shorton told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Shorton has Friedman pulled in close to control his posture.
Friedman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Friedman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Friedman content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
We've been hearing that Friedman has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Friedman throws a big elbow that misses.
Shorton wants to sweep here but Friedman controlling him for the moment.
Shorton is trying to control the position but Friedman postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Friedman lands a couple of elbows.
Friedman lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Shorton wants to control the position but Friedman says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Friedman lands with a punch from half guard.

Shorton kicks off Friedman and gets to his feet.
Friedman misses with an uppercut.
Friedman has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Shorton finds it's way round the side to connect with Friedman's head.
Shorton scores with a jab to the body.
Friedman looks to land a right hand but Shorton moved out of range.
Nice uppercut lands for Shorton. That snapped Friedman's head back.
Shorton slips under a jab from Friedman.
Shorton scores with a crisp jab that stopped Friedman in his tracks.
Friedman connects with a good right hand that stumbles Shorton. Shorton circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shorton keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Friedman ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Friedman dodges the punch combination from Shorton.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shorton cracks Friedman with a good jab.
Shorton misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The fighters circling - Shorton throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Shorton throws a jab but it's blocked by Friedman.
Friedman misses with a body shot.
Shorton swings for the body but Friedman moves out of range.
Shorton looks to land a left hand but Friedman moved out of range nicely.
Shorton scores with a shot to the body.
Shorton is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Shorton dips to his left and cracks Friedman with an uppercut!
Shorton throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Friedman counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Friedman distracts Shorton with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Friedman keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Shorton's head.
Friedman trying to control but Shorton is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Friedman is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Friedman stands up over Shorton, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Friedman postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Shorton keeping moving, preventing Friedman from controlling successfully.
Friedman with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Friedman with a nice head shot there.
Friedman lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Shorton manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Shorton.
Shorton has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Shorton breaks from the clinch.
Shorton scores with a nice head shot.
Shorton lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Friedman, as that shot connected.
Friedman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Shorton drops Friedman with a beautiful combination! Friedman stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Shorton is looking for the KO!


Friedman is rocked!


It looks like Milton Friedman has been cut.
Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Shorton! Friedman is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!
