Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Akoni Gray (ranked 16 p4p, 4 weight class) and Solomon Kahn (ranked 153 p4p, 24 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Akoni Gray!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Solomon Kahn!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gray drops his hands momentarily and Kahn takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Gray walks into a straight right hand from Kahn.
A combination from Kahn does no damage.
Gray takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Gray drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Kahn lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Gray walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Kahn scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Gray misses the shot to the body.
Kahn has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Kahn misses the body punch
and Gray counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Solomon Kahn has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kahn throws a looping overhand right but Gray ducks down to avoid it.
Kahn scores with a spinning back kick!
Kahn listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Gray closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
A big left from Kahn misses.
A swing and a miss from Kahn.
Gray throws a lazy right hand but Kahn sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gray throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gray pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Kahn throws a hook but Gray blocks it.
Gray thinks about countering with a body kick.
Kahn throws a hook to the side of Gray's head but Gray sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kahn jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kahn misses with an uppercut
and Gray counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Gray fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kahn manages to avoid it.
Kahn takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Kahn keeps the fight on the outside.
Gray goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Kahn cracks the inside of Gray's front leg.
Kahn throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gray appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Kahn lands a slapping body shot.
Gray misses with a two punch combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gray throws an overhand right that lands on Kahn's shoulder, as Kahn tries to avoid the shot.
It seemed like Kahn was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Gray cracks Kahn with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Kahn looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Gray finish him?


Kahn is rocked!
Solomon Kahn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kahn misses with an uppercut
and Gray counters with a right hand from hell and Kahn is out cold! A vicious knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Akoni Gray!
Akoni Gray retains his light heavyweight title!
After the fight, Akoni Gray was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
