Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ronnie Rolla (ranked 819 p4p, 110 weight class) and Paddy Bateman (ranked 569 p4p, 73 weight class). Rolla comes to the cage accompanied by Hit 'Em Up. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ronnie Rolla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paddy Bateman!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bateman throws a hook to the side of Rolla's head but Rolla sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bateman throws a big shot that misses.
Bateman chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rolla can pounce on him.
Paddy Bateman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bateman rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rolla moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bateman connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Bateman lands a nice looking body shot.
Rolla throws an off balance right hand
and Bateman counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rolla misses with a series of wild punches.
Rolla throws a right and a left that Bateman avoids nicely.
Bateman misses with the combination.
Bateman blocks a head kick by Rolla.
Bateman looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Bateman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bateman throws a left and a right that both miss
and Rolla counters with a three punch combo that has Bateman backing up. Bateman nods at Rolla to acknowledge the strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rolla avoids the body shot from Bateman.
Rolla throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Rolla connects with a high kick.
Bateman throws the left hand but Rolla avoids the punch easily.
Rolla misses with a series of wild punches.
Bateman jabs Rolla to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Bateman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rolla throws out the jab.
Rolla slips a jab from Bateman.
Bateman takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Rolla will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And Bateman tries to counter it with a takedown but Rolla pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Bateman looks to land a combination but Rolla avoids it well.
Rolla tries to close the distance and clinch but Bateman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rolla bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bateman's head backwards.
Rolla tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bateman was well out of range. Poor timing from Rolla.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rolla ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rolla throws a big shot that misses.
Bateman with a lazy takedown attempt
and Rolla cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rolla tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rolla enables Bateman to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rolla manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bateman controls from within his opponent's guard.
Rolla looking to control.
Bateman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Rolla is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bateman is controlling him.
Bateman tries to free his leg and advance position but Rolla is retaining full guard.

Bateman is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Bateman prevents Rolla from getting back to his feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
A jab lands there for Bateman.
Rolla moves forwards but Bateman connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Rolla fails to land with a series of punches.
Bateman sizes up Rolla with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Nice takedown defense from Rolla. No joy for Bateman on that attempt.
A right-left combo lands from Rolla.


It looks like Paddy Bateman has been cut.
Bateman uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rolla has time to react.
Rolla attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Rolla closes the distance and clinches.

A quick uppercut on the inside from Bateman.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rolla blocks an uppercut.

Bateman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sloppy strikes from Rolla. Those never looked like landing.
Bateman moves out of range of the strikes.

Rolla is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Bateman presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Still in the clinch, Rolla scores with a nice short uppercut.
Our sources have told us that Rolla has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Bateman lands a left hand.
Bateman throws a punch but it's blocked by Rolla.
A short right from Bateman on the inside.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rolla can't find room to land a body shot as Bateman controls the action.
Rolla throws an elbow but it misses.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Bateman.
Rolla lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Bateman backwards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ronnie Rolla will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Paddy Bateman's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Bateman lands a really nice looking cross but Rolla seems unphased.

Ronnie Rolla has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paddy Bateman.
Rolla stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rolla wants it to stay on the feet.
Bateman avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Bateman uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rolla has time to react.

Bateman tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bateman has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Rolla is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Paddy Bateman!
A less than humble Paddy Bateman misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
