Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ambrose Chisholm (ranked 2266 p4p, 260 weight class) and Lu Wai Ping (ranked 3714 p4p, 387 weight class). Ambrose Chisholm could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Lu Wai Ping's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chisholm plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Chisholm tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Wai Ping lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Wai Ping moves out of range as Chisholm strikes.
Wai Ping now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Chisholm gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Wai Ping has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Chisholm is working away from the top position though.
Wai Ping is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Chisholm's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Chisholm's back!

Chisholm is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Wai Ping off. It looks like it's working - Wai Ping slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Chisholm displaying calm under pressure there.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Wai Ping creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Wai Ping has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chisholm can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wai Ping has his foot on Chisholm's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chisholm works his way back into a safe position though.

That was a close round but I would say that Ambrose Chisholm will probably get the nod.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Chisholm shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Wai Ping eats them both and turns towards Chisholm to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
