Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Laxa Tiv (ranked 1573 p4p, 157 weight class) and Sulayman Jihad (ranked 2108 p4p, 186 weight class). Laxa Tiv has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Lou da Vinci and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tiv takes a jab right on the kisser.
Jihad scores with a jab. Tiv acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Tiv with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Jihad to score with a decent uppercut.
Jihad moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Jihad throws an overhand right that lands on Tiv's shoulder, as Tiv tries to avoid the shot.

Tiv tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jihad sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tiv somewhat.
Jihad fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tiv manages to avoid it.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Jihad working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Tiv throws a shot from downtown. Jihad moves away and avoids it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tiv goes for a double leg but Jihad avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jihad continues to drive forward.
Jihad displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tiv.
Tiv is breathing heavily.
Jihad lands a big right hook! Tiv looks hurt but is still standing! Jihad lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Tiv falls down and Jihad dives in with a huge hammer fist! Tiv's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Jihad runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Sulayman Jihad!
An out of breath Sulayman Jihad thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
