Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jordon Shoemaker (ranked 3003 p4p, 406 weight class) and Ashraf Hassan (ranked 3228 p4p, 429 weight class). Shoemaker comes to the cage accompanied by Nelly - Air Force Ones. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ashraf Hassan!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hassan works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Shoemaker throws a head kick that misses.
Shoemaker throws a hook but Hassan blocks it.
Hassan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hassan throws a series of punches but Shoemaker avoids them all with ease.
Shoemaker swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Shoemaker rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hassan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Shoemaker wants to clinch up but Hassan keeps it at a distance.
Shoemaker misses with a straight right.
Nice uppercut lands for Shoemaker. That snapped Hassan's head back.
Shoemaker fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hassan manages to avoid it.
Shoemaker looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shoemaker shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hassan eats them both and turns towards Shoemaker to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Ashraf Hassan has been cut.
Hassan throws a jab when Shoemaker was well out of range.

and Hassan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Shoemaker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hassan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shoemaker.

Hassan keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Hassan throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Shoemaker on the side of the head.
Hassan throws a lazy right hand but Shoemaker sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
We've been informed that Hassan has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Hassan gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shoemaker to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Hassan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shoemaker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Shoemaker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hassan might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Shoemaker throws a low kick, looking for Hassan's leg but Hassan calmly moves out of range.
Hassan swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Hassan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Shoemaker is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Hassan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Shoemaker drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

No joy there for Shoemaker, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Shoemaker has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hassan finds it's way round the side to connect with Shoemaker's head.

Hassan takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Hassan is rocked!
Shoemaker goes for a small jab and connects. Now Shoemaker goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Hassan stumbles back but Shoemaker runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Hassan to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Hassan will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
