With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sam Rosen!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Benson or perhaps it was just good defense by Rosen, which made it look bad.
Rosen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Benson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Rosen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Benson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Benson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rosen's efforts to push away.
Rosen wants to get back to striking at distance but Benson won't allow it.
Benson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rosen pulls him back up using the underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rosen is looking to break free of the clinch but Benson has double underhooks.
Benson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rosen fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Benson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rosen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Benson somewhat.

We've been informed that Rosen has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Benson shoots in looking for a takedown. Rosen tries to sprawl out of it but Benson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rosen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Rosen moves into the clinch.

Benson gets control of Rosen's arms and successfully pulls guard. Benson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Benson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Rosen stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Rosen forces Benson back against the cage and clinches.
Benson jumps guard but Rosen stands there with Benson around his waist. Benson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Rosen tries to break free but Benson pushes him back against the cage.

Rosen wants to get up but he can't break Benson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Benson has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Rosen has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Rosen wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Rosen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Benson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rosen to keep the fight standing.

Rosen might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Sam Rosen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Rosen has managed to clinch.
Benson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rosen walks away with a smile on his face. Benson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
