Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rocky Lemmons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John De Hahler!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Hahler is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lemmons.
De Hahler avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lemmons fails in his attempt to clinch.

Lemmons drives through and clinches with De Hahler against the cage.

Lemmons lands a takedown into guard.
Lemmons trying to control but De Hahler is working from the bottom.

Lemmons drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and De Hahler dives on top into guard.

Lemmons is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and De Hahler defends well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lemmons looking for a sweep. Not yet Lemmons, not yet.
De Hahler pushes down on Lemmons's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lemmons is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Guts & Glory Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

De Hahler is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lemmons sees it coming and defends easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

De Hahler is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lemmons defends it well.
De Hahler frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Lemmons is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
De Hahler fails to move to back control.
Lemmons tries to hold on but De Hahler pushes him away.
De Hahler trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Lemmons is in all sorts of trouble here.

Lemmons wants to control but De Hahler is having none of it.
De Hahler lands a couple of good shots and Lemmons has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
De Hahler is riding his opponent, not letting Lemmons buck him off.
Lemmons tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Well, if De Hahler is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

De Hahler is looking for submissions but instead, Lemmons has regained full guard.

Lemmons has his foot on De Hahler's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. De Hahler works his way back into a safe position though.

Lemmons escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. De Hahler gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John De Hahler dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Lemmons looking to score a takedown here. De Hahler is defending well but Lemmons drives through and ends up in De Hahler's guard.
We've been informed that De Hahler has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Lemmons drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and De Hahler dives on top into guard.


De Hahler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lemmons has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, De Hahler has managed to get both his arms back between Lemmons's legs - danger averted.

De Hahler is taking a breather. Lemmons says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

De Hahler wants to free his trapped foot but Lemmons is holding on for dear life with his legs.

De Hahler in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Lemmons tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from De Hahler!
