Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bradley Burt (ranked 5757 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Lesnar (ranked 7849 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bradley Burt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brock Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, David Schapiro and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lesnar closes the distance and clinches.
Lesnar looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Lesnar is trying to stall.
Burt tries to break the clinch but Lesnar is controlling the position.

Burt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Lesnar gets the takedown into side control.

Burt explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Burt really is a fat lump.

Lesnar has Burt up against the cage in a clinch.
Burt swings wildly with an uppercut but Lesnar uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lesnar has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Burt uses from the top position.

Burt gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Brock Lesnar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Burt shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Burt was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Burt is staying tight to Lesnar's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Burt looks up at the clock and then as Lesnar takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Burt smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Burt takes a little break here. Lesnar wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Lesnar is looking for a sweep.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Burt is trying to get an arm triangle but Lesnar is defending well.
Burt is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Lesnar struggling a bit here.

Burt stands up.

Lesnar gets caught napping as Burt dives in and scores a takedown. Lesnar manages to retain guard.

Lesnar has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Burt is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Burt is looking to break free of the clinch but Lesnar has double underhooks.

Burt wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lesnar has him pressed against the cage.

Lesnar pulls guard.
Burt postures up in Lesnar's guard and throws a big left but Lesnar blocks it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Burt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Burt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lesnar on the ground.

Burt lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Burt showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Burt content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Burt has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Lesnar doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Burt gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Lesnar closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lesnar wants to take a breather but Burt manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Lesnar.
Burt is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bradley Burt will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Burt shoots in for a double leg but Lesnar sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Lesnar has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Burt is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Burt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lesnar avoids it really well and circles away.
Lesnar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Burt seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Burt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lesnar as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bradley Burt. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lesnar scores with a head kick.

Lesnar fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Burt to the ground. Lesnar is now in Burt's guard.
Lesnar is breathing heavily.

Burt is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Lesnar presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Burt has a couple of punches blocked by Lesnar.

Burt is trying to break free.

Burt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lesnar throws a body shot but no joy.

Lesnar manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Burt on his heels. He'll look to pass Burt's guard now, I'm sure.

Burt kicks Lesnar off and gets to his feet.

Burt is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Burt just misses with a punch to the body.
Burt shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lesnar defends it nicely.
Lesnar steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.

Burt seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Burt goes for a double leg but Lesnar avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lesnar continues to drive forward.

Lesnar takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Burt escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lesnar fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Lesnar shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Lesnar wants to take a breather but Burt is having none of it.
Lesnar looks to land a strike but Burt avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Burt manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Burt manages to break the clinch.
Burt dives in and grabs Lesnar's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lesnar pushes down on Burt's head and hops out.

Burt shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lesnar napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Burt working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Lesnar gets back to half guard.
Burt is nestled in close to Lesnar, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Bradley Burt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Brock Lesnar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bradley Burt is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Burt, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
