The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackard darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Blackard is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Zane is not content to let Blackard control the position.
Blackard is working for a submission of some sort.
Blackard wants to pass to mount but Zane is defending the position.
Zane has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blackard in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Zane tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Blackard!
