PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Hare (ranked 2101 p4p, 309 weight class) and Brian Baker (ranked 1530 p4p, 238 weight class). Brian Baker told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Peter Hare!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brian Baker!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Baker makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Baker jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
The fight stays on the outside here - Baker looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Baker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

It looks like Hare has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Baker glances at the clock... BAM! Hare nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Baker crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Baker is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
