Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Weaton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Mckenzie!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mckenzie shoots for a takedown but Weaton saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Mckenzie clinches up with Weaton and pushes him back against the cage.
Mckenzie is looking to break free of the clinch but Weaton has double underhooks.
Mckenzie can't break the clinch.

Weaton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Weaton scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
A looping hook to the body misses from Mckenzie. Weaton does a little dance to reset his feet.
It looked like Weaton wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Weaton lands a left and a right that send Mckenzie crashing to the mat, dazed. Weaton thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Mckenzie is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Weaton moves in looking to clinch but Mckenzie pushes him off.
Mckenzie is still on wobbly legs! Can Weaton finish him?
Mckenzie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Weaton is fending him off so far but Mckenzie persists. Nope, Weaton circles away and we're back to standing.
Mckenzie tries for a takedown but Weaton sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Daniel Weaton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Mckenzie.
Mckenzie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Weaton circles away.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Weaton tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mckenzie swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Weaton stuffs the takedown attempt from Mckenzie. Mckenzie gets slowly back to his feet.
Weaton bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Mckenzie's head backwards.

Mckenzie manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Weaton on his heels. He'll look to pass Weaton's guard now, I'm sure.

Weaton manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Weaton unloads a knee to the mid-section. Mckenzie lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Weaton doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Weaton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Weaton tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
It seemed like Mckenzie was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Weaton lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Horrible takedown attempt by Mckenzie or perhaps it was just good defense by Weaton, which made it look bad.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mckenzie is defended easily by Weaton.
Weaton moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Weaton pushes Mckenzie up against the cage in a clinch.

Mckenzie wants to get back to striking at distance but Weaton won't allow it.

Weaton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Weaton tries to work over Mckenzie's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Mckenzie has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Weaton putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Mckenzie in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Mckenzie misses with a takedown attempt - Weaton sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mckenzie shoots in for a double leg but Weaton sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Weaton throws a combination. Mckenzie tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Weaton defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mckenzie.

Mckenzie shoots in looking for a takedown. Weaton tries to sprawl out of it but Mckenzie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Weaton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mckenzie looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Weaton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Weaton wants it to stay on the feet.

Weaton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mckenzie can do to turn this around?

It seemed like Mckenzie was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Weaton looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mckenzie doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Weaton counters with a left and a right... And another left! Mckenzie is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
