Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zachary Hurst (ranked 24858 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Wagner (ranked 7828 p4p, 0 weight class). Wagner has chosen Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer as his entrance music. Zachary Hurst had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Zachary Hurst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Wagner!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wagner scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Hurst throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Hurst gets back to half guard.
Hurst has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wagner is working away from the top position though.
Hurst is trying to get back to full guard.
Wagner trying to control the action but Hurst is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wagner stalling away here and it's allowed Hurst to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Hurst could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hurst trying to keep a closed guard but Wagner is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Wagner shoots in and bounces Hurst off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hurst wants to get back to his feet but Wagner passes into half guard.

Wagner tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hurst knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Wagner stands up and beckons Hurst to join him on the feet.
Jack Wagner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wagner shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Wagner pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hurst is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hurst has his foot on Wagner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wagner works his way back into a safe position though.
Hurst is breathing heavily.
Hurst is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Wagner is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hurst is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hurst has escaped and now he's on top!

Wagner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hurst throws a big right hand that misses.
Hurst lands a couple of elbows.
Wagner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hurst. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hurst loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hurst with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hurst cracks Wagner with a solid left hand.

Hurst throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Wagner.
Wagner looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Zachary Hurst is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Wagner manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hurst on his heels. He'll look to pass Hurst's guard now, I'm sure.
Wagner slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Hurst tries to keep at a distance but Wagner has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hurst has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Wagner after a bit of a struggle.

Wagner ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Wagner no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Wagner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hurst can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wagner wants to stand up but Hurst is controlling him.

Wagner is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hurst defends well.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Wagner utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Wagner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Wagner fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hurst sprawls well initially but Wagner persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Wagner is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Wagner is trying to hold Hurst in close to prevent damage but Hurst has managed to pass into half guard.
Wagner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Wagner tries to roll over but Hurst keeps him under control.
Wagner wants to control but Hurst passes into side.

Hurst is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Wagner looks calm but he's in trouble here. Hurst gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Wagner is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Hurst lets go of the hold and Wagner can pop his arm back in it's socket.
