Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Shinnie (ranked 2453 p4p, 122 weight class) and DJ Gunnar (ranked 2310 p4p, 116 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kevin Shinnie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, DJ Gunnar!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shinnie scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Gunnar uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shinnie.
Shinnie checks a leg kick.
Shinnie throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A cross from Shinnie lands.
Gunnar has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Gunnar throws out a loose jab but Shinnie uses good head movement to avoid it.
An attempted straight right counter from Shinnie misses the target.
Shinnie tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gunnar avoids the head kick by Shinnie.
Gunnar connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Shinnie's hands.
Shinnie looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Shinnie tries to bum rush Gunnar with a series of wild strikes but Gunnar uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gunnar swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Gunnar throws a head kick that misses.
Nice uppercut there from Shinnie.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shinnie keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Shinnie throws out a leg kick but Gunnar moves out of range and Shinnie only half commits.
Gunnar delivers a nice body kick.
Gunnar throws a body shot but no joy.

Gunnar drops Shinnie with a right and a left! Gunnar comes rushing in but Shinnie regains his composure and manages to keep Gunnar in guard.

It looks like Kevin Shinnie has been cut.
Gunnar trying to control the position from guard on top but Shinnie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Shinnie uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Gunnar pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shinnie takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Shinnie is rocked!
Shinnie is aggressively charging in as Gunnar backs up avoiding any damage. Gunnar tosses out a jab and Shinnie runs right into it face first! Shinnie is out cold! Gunnar dropped down on all fours and is barking in Shinnie's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). DJ Gunnar!
