Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between DJ Spread (ranked 5710 p4p, 0 weight class) and Massimo Belardinelli (ranked 5466 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spread rushes Belardinelli and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Spread escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Belardinelli shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Spread as he jumps to the side.
Belardinelli is trying hard to land a takedown here. Spread sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Belardinelli throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Spread's waist but Spread gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Belardinelli off to one side.
DJ Spread has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Massimo Belardinelli.

Belardinelli gets tackled into the cage by Spread. Spread maintains the clinch.
Spread could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Belardinelli is looking for a takedown.

Spread ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Spread no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Belardinelli drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Spread manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Belardinelli has Spread in his guard.

Spread is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Spread tries to free his leg and advance position but Belardinelli is retaining full guard.
Spread has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Belardinelli has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Spread doesn't defend quickly enough and Belardinelli has managed to lock this one up! Can Spread escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Belardinelli on a fantastic submission victory.
