Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Landon Allen (ranked 24712 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kelvin Kirk (ranked 8227 p4p, 0 weight class). Kelvin Kirk looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Landon Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kelvin Kirk!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kirk pushes Allen up against the cage in a clinch.

Allen is looking to break free of the clinch but Kirk has double underhooks.

Kirk dives in for a single leg takedown but Allen sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kirk.
Kirk fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Allen avoids it really well and circles away.
Landon Allen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kelvin Kirk.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Allen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Allen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Allen wants to get up but he can't break Kirk's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Allen gets to his feet - Kirk follows without any prompting.
Allen throws a body punch but Kirk moves out of range.

Allen leaves Kirk with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Allen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kirk ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Kirk closes the distance and clinches.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Allen is trying to pull guard but Kirk turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Kirk is trying to drag Allen to the mat but Allen just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Allen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kirk smiles and moves away.

Kirk gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kirk creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Allen's defenses.
Allen jumps guard but Kirk stands there with Allen around his waist. Allen gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Landon Allen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Allen has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kirk uses from the top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kirk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Allen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
