The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Roman doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Jitsu counters by moving into the clinch.
Jitsu prevents a takedown attempt there.
Roman is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Jitsu is defending well.

Jitsu jumps into guard, dragging Roman to the mat.

Jitsu had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Roman defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jitsu pushes a forearm under Roman's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Roman is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jiu Jitsu!
