The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Crompton has closed the distance and engaged Adkins in a clinch.
Adkins is trying to push Crompton away but Crompton has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Crompton wants the takedown. Adkins is fighting it off but Crompton persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Adkins's guard against the cage.
Crompton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Adkins knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Crompton on the ground.
Crompton trying to control the position from guard on top but Adkins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Crompton stands up over Adkins, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Crompton gets to his feet - Adkins follows without any prompting.

Crompton rushes Adkins and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Crompton pulls Adkins into guard.

Crompton is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Adkins is aware though and is defending well.

Crompton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Crompton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Adkins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Crompton swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Crompton looking for a guillotine here but Adkins defends easily.
Crompton wants to sweep here but Adkins controlling him for the moment.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Adkins trying to control the position from guard on top but Crompton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Crompton wants to sweep here but Adkins controlling him for the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

and Crompton counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Adkins is breathing heavily.

Adkins gets caught napping as Crompton dives in and scores a takedown. Adkins manages to retain guard.

Crompton gets to his feet. Adkins looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Crompton tries to land a leg kick but Adkins saw it coming and moves away.
Adkins attempts a counter takedown but Crompton avoids it well and moves away.
Nick Crompton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Crompton stalks Adkins and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Adkins's face. Adkins staggers backwards, shaken.

Crompton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Adkins is rocked!
Crompton working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Adkins's head.
Oh Adkins is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Crompton gets to his feet and stands over Adkins, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Adkins felt that one! Crompton unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Adkins from any more punishment!
