Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tony Maa (ranked 3072 p4p, 249 weight class) and Lee Bruce (ranked 4811 p4p, 328 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Maa might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ong-Bak's Theme Song. Tony Maa has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maa slips under a jab from Bruce.
Bruce has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Bruce takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Maa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bruce manages to avoid it.

Maa fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bruce has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Maa stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bruce.
Bruce takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
We've been told by Maa's head coaches at 11th Planet Jiu Jitsu that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Maa walks forward, straight into a front kick from Bruce.
Maa tries to bum rush Bruce with a series of wild strikes but Bruce uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bruce gets through Maa's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Maa is trying to maintain a safe position but Bruce gets an underhook and turns Maa into the cage.

Lee Bruce dominated that round.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Maa with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bruce to score with a decent uppercut.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Bruce. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lee Bruce seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Maa doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bruce cracks Maa with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Maa falls to his knees and Bruce doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
