Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Knight (ranked 2936 p4p, 319 weight class) and John Carter (ranked 3055 p4p, 330 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenny Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, John Carter!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.


It looks like John Carter has been cut.
Knight throws a right hand that misses

so Carter counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Carter with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Knight will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Carter trying to control but Knight is working from the bottom.
Carter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Carter landing some decent shots from guard.
Carter stands up over Knight, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Knight is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Carter presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Knight lands a body punch in the clinch.

Knight ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Knight no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Carter is in close to Knight's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Knight looking for a guillotine here but Carter defends easily.
Knight is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Carter is controlling him.
Carter lands a couple of elbows.
Carter trying to control the position from guard on top but Knight is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Carter makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carter scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Carter has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Pablo's Boxing Academy. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Knight pushes Carter off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Carter drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Knight pushes Carter off and gets back to his feet.

Carter scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Knight explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Carter closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Carter lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Carter grinds an elbow into Knight's temple.


Knight is rocked!
Carter working the ground and pound from side control.
Oh Knight is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Carter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Carter scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Knight is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Carter can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Carter!
Our winner, John Carter, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
