Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Alvarez (ranked 5421 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramelo Gracie (ranked 3590 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvarez comes into the arena with 300 blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sergio Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ramelo Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez has closed the distance and engaged Gracie in a clinch.
Gracie has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Alvarez is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Alvarez is pressed up against the cage. Gracie has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Alvarez down to the mat. Alvarez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Alvarez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gracie to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Alvarez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Gracie working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie postures up.
Gracie advances position into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Alvarez is looking to regain half guard here but Gracie keeps moving and retains side control.
Gracie working the ground and pound but Alvarez is defending the strikes.
Alvarez is looking for a sweep.
Gracie lands some shots froms side control.
Gracie looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Alvarez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie swings around for an armbar but Alvarez sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gracie's guard.
Gracie has his feet on Alvarez's thighs here. He's pushed Alvarez off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Alvarez screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ramelo Gracie!
