Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Valeri Chadov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper blocks a head kick by Lokic.
Lokic throws a right and a left that Cooper avoids nicely.

Cooper gets a takedown into half guard.

Lokic has one foot on Cooper's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Cooper could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Cooper shoots in for a takedown but Lokic shows good takedown defense.

Lokic is looking for a kimura but Cooper is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lokic to get the leverage.
Cooper pushes Lokic off looking to stand but Lokic dives back in and keeps control.

Lokic is just content to waste time from the top position. Cooper takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cooper controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Cooper might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Cooper postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Lokic trying to keep a closed guard but Cooper is proving a slippery customer.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Lokic looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Cooper puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Cooper shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lokic but Lokic pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Lokic closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cooper's guard.

Alexi Lokic showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lokic in particular looking to stall.

Cooper wants to control but Lokic is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lokic lands a nice short elbow.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Lokic has closed the distance and engaged Cooper in a clinch.

Lokic gets control of Cooper's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lokic will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Well Lokic has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
