Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waddell takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Waddell avoids a punch combination nicely.
Waddell seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Alcala misses with a double jab.
Waddell went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Alcala scores with a three punch combo!
Alcala falls off balance throwing a combination
and Waddell counters with a two punch combo.
Waddell ducks under a wild hook from Alcala.

Waddell doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

A right-left combo lands from Alcala.
It looks like Iain Waddell has been cut.

As Alcala looks to move away, Waddell throws a big counter combo but Alcala just gets out of the way.
Waddell on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Alcala cracks Waddell with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Waddell looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Alcala finish him?

It looked like Waddell was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Alcala is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Waddell gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Alcala gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Waddell is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rodney Alcala!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Rodney Alcala waved his t-shirt featuring Woodshins' Ship's logo in front of the cameras.
