Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Tanagul (ranked 23405 p4p, 578 weight class) and Avion Lassiter (ranked 7968 p4p, 556 weight class). The key to victory for Joe Tanagul has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Tanagul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Avion Lassiter !
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lassiter lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Tanagul at a distance.
Tanagul scores with a crisp jab that stopped Lassiter in his tracks.
Lassiter thuds his right hand into Tanagul's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Tanagul.
Despite the aggression on Lassiter 's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Lassiter closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Tanagul quickly recovers to half guard.
Tanagul is not content to let Lassiter control the position.
Lassiter scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Well, if Lassiter is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Tanagul is trying to control but can't.
Lassiter with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Lassiter decides to return to a standing position.

Lassiter checks the leg kick nicely there.
Lassiter counters with a body kick.
Lassiter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tanagul sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lassiter somewhat.

Lassiter gets the takedown into side control.
Lassiter throws a strike aimed at the side of Tanagul's head but Tanagul avoids it well.
Lassiter in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Lassiter is putting a hurting on Tanagul here, landing some big shots from side control.

Lassiter is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tanagul is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Tanagul parries the strikes from Lassiter easily there. Lassiter is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Tanagul to escape.

Lassiter controls the position.

Lassiter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lassiter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Lassiter stands up.
Lassiter fails with a takedown attempt.
Tanagul jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

Tanagul gets caught flat footed, as Lassiter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Tanagul has his feet on Lassiter 's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Lassiter lands a jab.
Lassiter closes the distance and clinches up with Tanagul, looking for a takedown. Lassiter pushes Tanagul against the cage but Tanagul circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Joe Tanagul has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Avion Lassiter .

A momentary lapse in concentration from Tanagul enables Lassiter to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Tanagul manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Tanagul wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Lassiter manages to pass to side control.

Lassiter is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tanagul defends it well.
Tanagul knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lassiter on the ground.
Lassiter thows a huge punch but Tanagul dodges it nicely.

Lassiter throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Lassiter seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Tanagul is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
