PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chief Shadow (ranked 3704 p4p, 465 weight class) and Asko Vilenius (ranked 1683 p4p, 265 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chief Shadow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Asko Vilenius!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vilenius is defended easily by Shadow.
Vilenius scores with a one two! Shadow had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Shadow takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Shadow walks into a straight right hand from Vilenius.
Vilenius cracks Shadow with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Vilenius darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Vilenius wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Vilenius bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Shadow's head.
Vilenius thuds a left hand into Shadow's body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shadow shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vilenius pinned against the cage. Vilenius gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shadow shoots for a double leg takedown but Vilenius sprawls well. He's pushed Shadow's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Vilenius lands a jab to the nose.
Shadow tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Vilenius defends well and Shadow ends up having to push Vilenius into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chief Shadow. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vilenius looks for a takedown but Shadow sprawls well.
Shadow tries for a takedown but Vilenius sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Vilenius lands with a good body shot.
Vilenius fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Vilenius feints a jab promting Shadow to slip. Vilenius then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Shadow slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Vilenius jabs Shadow to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Shadow is breathing heavily.
Vilenius throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Shadow stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Oooooh!!! Vilenius has knocked Shadow down with a huge combo! Vilenius steps away and waves a wobbly Shadow back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Shadow is rocked!

It looks like Chief Shadow has been cut.
Vilenius's coach down at BIGISLAND BIGGUNS WARRIOR TRAINING was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Vilenius's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vilenius throws a shot to the body.
Oh Shadow is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vilenius flashes Shadow a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Shadow's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Shadow crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Vilenius punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!
