Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Winfred Dillard (ranked 22772 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Foster (ranked 5629 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Martin Foster enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Winfred Dillard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Martin Foster!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Foster manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dillard on his heels. He'll look to pass Dillard's guard now, I'm sure.
Dillard trying to keep a closed guard but Foster is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Foster pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dillard is keeping the position for now.

Foster drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dillard dives on top into guard.

Foster wants to sweep but no luck.
Dillard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dillard seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Foster wants to sweep here but Dillard controlling him for the moment.

Dillard has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Foster is proving hard to escape from.

Foster is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dillard is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Foster manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dillard manages to get himself to full guard.

Foster postures up in Dillard's guard and throws a big left but Dillard blocks it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Dillard throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Foster tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dillard is in Foster's guard.

Foster manages to escape and get back to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Foster can't find room to land a body shot as Dillard controls the action.

Foster breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Dillard scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Foster is looking for a sweep.
Foster is trying to control Dillard's posture but Dillard avoids it.
Dillard moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Dillard counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Dillard would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Dillard wants to control from the top but Foster keeps moving.

Foster can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dillard controls the pace.
Dillard's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Foster is pulling down on Dillard's head. It's preventing any offense from Dillard, at least for the moment.

Foster shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Dillard regains full guard. Nicely done.

Foster stands and steps away. Dillard gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Dillard shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Foster is trying to defend but Dillard finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Dillard looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Foster with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Dillard thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Foster's head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dillard connects with a nice short shot to Foster's temple.
Dillard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Foster tries to kick Dillard off but Dillard keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Well, if Dillard is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Foster wants to improve his position but Dillard is controlling well.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dillard is defended easily by Foster.

Dillard bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Foster darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Dillard darts in looking for a takedown but Foster gets double underhooks and turns Dillard into the cage.
Foster is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Foster lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Dillard backs up against the cage.

Foster drives through and clinches with Dillard against the cage.

Foster gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Dillard has one foot on Foster's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dillard looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Foster closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dillard's guard.
Foster takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dillard is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Foster defends well.

Dillard slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Foster wriggles free and stands up.
Foster lands a jab-cross combination.

Dillard looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Foster!

Dillard connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Foster some visible discomfort.

Foster is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Dillard off and has taken his back!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dillard manages to stand up with Foster still on his back. Eventually Foster drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.

Dillard gets tackled into the cage by Foster. Foster maintains the clinch.

Dillard pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Martin Foster.
I think Foster has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
