Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hellion Willis (ranked 5319 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cecil Scanlan (ranked 5273 p4p, 397 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scanlan sizes up Willis with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
It looks like Hellion Willis has been cut.
Willis closes the distance but Scanlan moves to the side
and Scanlan counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Willis takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Scanlan lands with a cross.
Scanlan gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Willis to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Scanlan feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Williss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Willis shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Scanlan is trying to defend but Willis finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Willis is taking a breather. Scanlan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's time! Willis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Nice straight punches there by Scanlan. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Scanlan.
Scanlan lunges at Willis with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Willis's hand.
Willis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Scanlan sprawls well initially but Willis persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Scanlan is looking for a sweep. Willis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Scanlan. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Willis takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Willis is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Scanlan has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Scanlan!
Hellion Willis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Willis looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Scanlan puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Scanlan tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Willis.
Willis has one foot on Scanlan's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Willis tries to clinch up but Scanlan circles away and keeps his distance.
Cecil Scanlan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Willis takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Willis takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Scanlan jabs Willis right on the nose. Willis blinks but takes it well.
Scanlan stuffs the takedown attempt from Willis. Willis gets slowly back to his feet.

and Scanlan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Scanlan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Willis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Scanlan swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cecil Scanlan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Willis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Willis's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Scanlan avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Willis.
Willis remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Cecil Scanlan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Willis closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Scanlan did well to prevent Willis getting side control.
Scanlan has hold of Willis's hands but Willis slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
It looks like Cecil Scanlan has been cut.
Willis is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Scanlan might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Cecil Scanlan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Scanlan winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
