Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adan Taylor (ranked 5569 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vasily Boyko (ranked 5962 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adan Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vasily Boyko!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Taylor moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Taylor appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Boyko takes the fight into the clinch.

Boyko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Boyko circles away from the clinch attempt.
Boyko throws a head kick but Taylor moves out of range.
Taylor throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Boyko sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Boyko shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Boyko was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Taylor stops Boyko from passing to mount.
Boyko trying to control the position but Taylor is working away.

Boyko is trying to get an arm triangle but Taylor is defending well.

Taylor is trying to control Boyko's posture but Boyko avoids it.
Taylor tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Boyko throwing strikes here but Taylor is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Taylor wants to control but Boyko is having none of it.

Boyko is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Taylor is surviving well by controlling Boyko's body position as best he can.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Taylor is looking to get to half guard.
Boyko wants to control the pace but Taylor is squirming around nicely.

Boyko has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Taylor's face.
Taylor bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Taylor trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Taylor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boyko swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Taylor controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Boyko utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Taylor trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Taylor drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Boyko manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Taylor has Boyko in his guard.

Boyko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taylor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Taylor is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vasily Boyko dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Taylor avoids a punch combination nicely.
Boyko scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Adan Taylor has been cut.
Taylor misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Boyko fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Taylor sprawls well initially but Boyko persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Taylor works his way to full guard. Good work.

Taylor is trying to maintain the position but Boyko is very close to passing his half guard.

Boyko is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've been informed that Boyko has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Taylor has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Boyko is working away from the top position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Boyko looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Taylor with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Taylor has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Boyko is working away from the top position though.
Boyko scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Taylor keeping hold of Boyko's head, controlling as best he can.
Taylor is looking to improve his position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Good standup being displayed there by Boyko as he connects with a hook.

Boyko instigates a clinch.
Taylor jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Boyko walks away with a smile on his face. Taylor gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Vasily Boyko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boyko rushes Taylor and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Taylor is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Boyko piles on the pressure and Taylor crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vasily Boyko!
Post fight, Vasily Boyko took to the microphone: 'This is for my country, Ukraine!'.
