Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Varela (ranked 3425 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dongsu Kim (ranked 3179 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dexter Varela !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dongsu Kim!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Igor Prikhodko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim keeps the fight on the outside.
Varela doesn't manage to clinch there - Kim circles away.
Kim tries to counter by closing the distance.

Varela is fighting to break Kim's control of his arms but Kim is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Varela wants to get up but he can't break Kim's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kim shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Varela but Varela pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Varela is trying to push Kim away but Kim has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Varela has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kim uses from the top position.

Dongsu Kim showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Varela 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

It looked like Varela was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Kim shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Varela defends it nicely.

Kim fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Varela , pushing him back against the cage.
Kim manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Varela really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Varela not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Kim looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Varela is fending him off so far but Kim persists. Nope, Varela circles away and we're back to standing.
Varela dives in for a single leg takedown but Kim sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Varela is defended easily by Kim.
Dongsu Kim seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Dongsu Kim comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Kim winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
