Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gerrald James (ranked 2132 p4p, 312 weight class) and Greg Norman (ranked 3127 p4p, 410 weight class). Norman has chosen Blac Youngsta - Birthday as his entrance music. Gerrald James has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerrald James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Greg Norman!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A lazy left from James finds it's target.
Nice shot by Norman.
James slips a jab from Norman.
Norman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Norman misses with a low kick.
Norman cracks James with a right hand to the side of the head.
James uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Norman.
Greg Norman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Norman connects with a high kick.


It looks like Gerrald James has been cut.
James slips a jab from Norman.

James clobbers Norman with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Norman slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
James gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Norman.
James moves away from the strike by Norman.
James has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Norman finds it's way round the side to connect with James's head.

As James backs off Norman throws a huge counter combo but James manages to avoid it all.

Good leg kick by Norman there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

James sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Norman throws a big counter head kick but James avoids it with no problem.

and James counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Norman is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! James had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

James on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
James moves out of range of the leg kick from Norman.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! James crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Norman - the referee stops the clock and James gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Norman. James manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Norman throws a leg kick which misses James's front leg but catches the back leg as James tries to avoid it.

James bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
James is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Norman.
Norman throws a big counter head kick but James avoids it with no problem.

Norman feints and then cracks James's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow James down.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Norman throws a low kick but it's checked well by James.
James's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and James duly obliges.

Norman uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before James has time to react.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Norman manages to avoid it.

James drops his hands momentarily and Norman takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

James's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Norman connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! James scrambles back to his feet.
Norman tries to land a front kick but James steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
James throws a solid leg kick but Norman takes the impact on his shin and smiles at James.
Norman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

James looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Norman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
James takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
James tries to score with a low kick but Norman moves his leg out of the way.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether James might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Norman catches James with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Norman motions for James to come forward. Norman throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

James will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Norman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
James throws a leg kick but Norman sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Norman moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Norman thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on James if he has to take too many more of those.
James lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Norman cracks James with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends James tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Norman pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! James is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Greg Norman!
A very excited looking Greg Norman made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
