Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Israel Kinney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gary Effen!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Effen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Effen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kinney is proving hard to escape from.
Effen postures up in Kinney's guard and throws a big left but Kinney blocks it.
Effen trying to control but Kinney is working from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Effen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Kinney thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Kinney has gone for a leg lock! Effen slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kinney's guard.

Kinney really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Effen not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Effen is trying to control the action in half guard but Kinney is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Effen tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kinney knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kinney gets back to full guard.

Kinney has his foot on Effen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Effen works his way back into a safe position though.

Effen has closed the distance and engaged Kinney in a clinch.

Gary Effen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Kinney doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Kinney gets tackled into the cage by Effen. Effen maintains the clinch.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Come on Kinney - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Gary Effen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Effen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
