The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steve throws a sloppy body shot
and Papadopoulos counters with a nice low kick that buckles Steve's knee momentarily.
Steve fails with an attempt to clinch.

Steve closes the distance and pushes Papadopoulos back into the cage.
Papadopoulos pushes Steve back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

A frustrated look appears on Papadopoulos's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Papadopoulos feints and then cracks Steve's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Steve down.
Papadopoulos does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Steve throws a hook to the side of Papadopoulos's head but Papadopoulos sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Papadopoulos lands a nice hook to Steve's body. Steve takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Papadopoulos jumps guard and drags Steve to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Papadopoulos has his foot on Steve's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Steve works his way back into a safe position though.

Papadopoulos is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Steve is aware though and is defending well.

Steve wanted to stand there but Papadopoulos had control of the position.
Steve trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Steve got a little sloppy there for a moment and Papadopoulos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Steve has managed to get both his arms back between Papadopoulos's legs - danger averted.

Nice uppercut lands for Steve. That snapped Papadopoulos's head back.

Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Steve screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
