Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack King (ranked 4284 p4p, 506 weight class) and Vladamir Slamenkov (ranked 4990 p4p, 543 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Vladamir Slamenkov!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Reed Andrews and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King misses with the combination.
Slamenkov fails with the takedown.
King definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
A cross from King lands.
King shoots in but Slamenkov avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Slamenkov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? King is fending him off so far but Slamenkov persists. Nope, King circles away and we're back to standing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King keeping full guard, as Slamenkov tries to pass.

King keeping moving, preventing Slamenkov from controlling successfully.
Slamenkov wanted to stand there but King had control of the position.
King is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
King looks for a takedown but Slamenkov sprawls well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

King clinches up with Slamenkov and pushes him back against the cage.
King is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Jack King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladamir Slamenkov.

Slamenkov has his foot on King's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. King works his way back into a safe position though.
Slamenkov lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

King wants to stand up but Slamenkov is controlling him.

Slamenkov drops back looking for a leg! King is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and King manages to kick Slamenkov off! Slamenkov jumps back into King's guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

King is trying to control the position but Slamenkov postures up.
King knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Slamenkov on the ground.
Slamenkov is looking to work some ground and pound but King has wrist control.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Slamenkov working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Slamenkov trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Slamenkov drops back looking for a leg! King is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and King manages to kick Slamenkov off! Slamenkov jumps back into King's guard.

Slamenkov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
King is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Slamenkov is controlling him.
Slamenkov wants to stand but King has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

King moves into the clinch.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vladamir Slamenkov dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



King darts in and clinches Slamenkov up against the cage.
King misses with a punch on the inside.
Slamenkov pressing his opponent against the cage.
Slamenkov wants a takedown.
King tries a body shot but Slamenkov blocks it.
King swings wildly with an uppercut but Slamenkov uses good head movement to avoid it.
Slamenkov goes for a takedown attempt but King pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
King leaves Slamenkov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jack King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladamir Slamenkov.

King tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Slamenkov stalling in the clinch.
King is trying to push Slamenkov away but Slamenkov has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Slamenkov manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
King throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Slamenkov looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Slamenkov wants to sweep here but King controlling him for the moment.

Slamenkov throws a nice elbow from the bottom.
King is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Slamenkov looking to control but King passes into half guard.

King is looking for a kimura here.
Slamenkov moves into full guard.
King in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

King trying to control the position from guard on top but Slamenkov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
King postures up.
King stands up over Slamenkov, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Slamenkov wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Slamenkov controls King momentarily but King frees himself.
King postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
King has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
King won't allow Slamenkov to sweep him here.

Slamenkov working for a triangle but King defends it easily.
King looking to sit in guard and control but Slamenkov gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Slamenkov drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Slamenkov as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! King screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Slamenkov! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Vladamir Slamenkov!
After winning the bout, Vladamir Slamenkov thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
