Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eric Ashton (ranked 920 p4p, 124 weight class) and Bill Newton (ranked 589 p4p, 84 weight class). Ashton comes to the cage accompanied by Zombie Nation. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

With a record of 16 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Bill Newton!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Newton.
Ashton walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Ashton has his foot on Newton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Newton works his way back into a safe position though.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eric Ashton.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ashton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
