He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Merel jabs at Thatcher's body.
Thatcher takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Merel connects with a body shot that sends Thatcher's belly button to the back.
Thatcher looks winded!
Merel cracks a nice hook into Thatcher's ribs.
Merel feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Thatchers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Merel looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Merel comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Thatcher takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Merel lands a big uppercut and Thatcher crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Thatcher looks OK. Merel waves Thatcher back to his feet!
Thatcher is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Merel lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Thatcher - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Merel!

A relieved looking Mark Merel thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
