Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Miles Avery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Louis Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Avery gets caught napping as Jenkins dives in and scores a takedown. Avery manages to retain guard.
Jenkins with a flurry of punches that miss.
Jenkins wants to control from the top but Avery keeps moving.
Jenkins is working Avery over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Jenkins postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Jenkins seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Avery keeping moving, preventing Jenkins from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jenkins passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Avery is not content to let Jenkins control the position.
Jenkins staying calm.
Avery is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jenkins wants to control but Avery is keeping him busy.
Avery regains half guard.
Jenkins is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Nice strikes from Jenkins there.
Jenkins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Avery keeps working.

Jenkins seems to be working for a kimura but Avery defends the submission attempt.

Jenkins is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jenkins wants to stand up but Avery has a hold of him and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Avery instigates a clinch.
Avery tries to circle away but Jenkins has him pinned against the cage.
Avery lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jenkins pulls Avery into guard.
Jenkins wants to sweep but no luck.
Avery throws a big elbow that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Louis Jenkins dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Avery closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jenkins circles away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Avery enables Jenkins to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Avery manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Avery is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Jenkins dives into side control.


Jenkins stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Jenkins gets a takedown into half guard.
Louis Jenkins has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jenkins is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jenkins throwing strikes from guard but Avery blocks nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Avery working for submissions but it's allowed Jenkins to get to half guard.
Jenkins uses his free foot to push down on Avery's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Avery.
Jenkins looking to control but Avery is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Jenkins looking to finish Avery with some ground and pound. This is bad for Avery!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jenkins is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Avery can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Jenkins wants to control the pace but Avery is squirming around nicely.
Jenkins lands a big elbow.


Avery is rocked!

Jenkins looking to isolate an arm here. Avery doesn't see it coming and as Jenkins extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Jenkins!
